caramel brownies

Yummmeeee!! These caramel brownies are SO good!! They are made with avocado and almond flour and what a great combo that is!! I topped them with homemade caramel sauce and a big sprinkle of course sea salt!!


1 large ripe avocado

2 eggs

1/2 tsp vanilla

3 tbsp oil, I used coconut

1/2 cup melted 72 percent dark chocolate

1/2 cup of almond flour

4 tbsp cacao powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 cup sweetener

Pinch of salt


1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips

*Caramel sauce

Course sea salt, optional


Heat oven to 350

Place the first 5 ingredients in a food processor and mix until smooth. Add the dry ingredients and mix until incorporated. Place in an oiled pan (6 cup Pyrex oblong) and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

*Homemade caramel sauce

1 cup coconut cream

1/2 cup maple syrup or coconut nectar

1/4 tsp vanilla

Pinch of salt

Heat coconut cream and maple syrup together and bring to a boil.


Continue to boil stirring occasionally for about 15-20 minutes or until reduced and thick.

Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla and salt. Cool slightly then drizzle on top of the cooled brownies. Refrigerate the leftover for another use. Yum!!

Store the brownies in the refrigerator.

    Looks amazing! What type of sweetener did you use for the brownies ?

      I used 1/2 coconut nectar + 1/2 monk fruit maple syrup.
